"Patriot Nations" Exhibit Opening Night Open House

11/20/2019 | Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park | Miami, MO

Join us at Missouri's American Indian Cultural Center on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to preview this new traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, brought to Missouri by the Missouri Humanities Council.

“Patriot Nations: Native Americans in Our Nation's Armed Forces” explores the ways in which Native Americans have served America’s Armed Forces in every major military encounter from the Revolutionary War to today’s conflicts in the Middle East. Through a series of engaging and historical photographs and narratives, visitors to the exhibit will learn how Native American servicemen and women have served to protect and defend the United States.

Guests are welcome to come and go as they please during the two-hour open house. Refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.

“Patriot Nations” was produced by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. The exhibition was made possible by the generous support of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.
