Marshes hold a unique blend of specialized aquatic wildlife and plant life. Join us at Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park for a program highlighting several different plant and animal species living in these beautiful ecosystems. We will observe these organisms in their natural habitat on a guided hike down the Oumessourit Spring Bluffs Trail. Meet at the small shelter house at 9 a.m.
Mosquitoes are a large part of this ecosystem, so be sure to bring insect repellent! Sunscreen and closed-toe shoes are also highly recommended. Trail terrain is flat and easily walkable. This event is free and open to the public.
Hike Time: 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.
