Earth Day Extravaganza

4/27/2019 | Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park | Miami, MO

Join us at the park for an Earth Day extravaganza! The Missouri Valley College Biology Department will be leading this event and sharing their different interests and expertise with visitors! There will be educational booths set up along Oumessourit Wetland Spring Bluffs Trail with topics ranging from turtles and mammals to composting and recycling. At 10:30 a.m., meet at the large shelter house for a guided nature hike along Earthworks Trail! Booths will run while the hike is in session for those who prefer to opt out of the guided nature hike.

This event is free and open to the public and all ages are welcome. Oumessourit Wetland Spring Bluffs Trail is an easily accessible hike with little to no incline. Earthworks Trail is a moderate hike with steep hills and narrow walkways. We highly recommend that attendees bring and use big spray and sunscreen, and also wear sturdy footwear.
