Garden Tour

6/1/2019 to 6/2/2019 | Deutschheim State Historic Site | Hermann, MO

Visit the historic site’s heirloom gardens during the annual Hermann Garden Club tour weekend. Step back in time, greeted by gardeners in period attire. Sample from the historic herb garden and learn about 19th century gardening techniques and heirloom plants and their uses during the early Missouri settlement period. A small 1880s, half-timbered barn features historic farm and garden tools. Free handouts will be available on heirloom gardening. A living history demonstration of the making of rye coil bee skeps will be a special feature in the garden. Traditional pink lemonade and springerle cookies make this a refreshing and informative visit. This event is held in conjunction with the annual Hermann Garden Club's Town and Country Garden Tour, a great time to visit Hermann.

Regular guided tours will not be offered on June 1-2. There is no admission fee to enjoy the historic site’s gardens during this special event.
