It’s the dog days of summer here at the park, and many of our native flowering plants don’t mind the heat. Join naturalist Lorie Volenberg as she guides you on this 2-mile hike that will take you through several ecosystems, such as glades and oak/hickory forests to see the flowers of dog days in bloom.
Bring your cameras, your notepads and any flower identification books you might desire to have on the hike. Meet near the picnic shelter in the lower parking lot. Hikers are encouraged to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and to bring a bottle of water. Insect repellent is strongly recommended.
Hike time: 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
