The public is invited to celebrate the first day of the year by mixing mine history with a walk in the woods. From the bicycle trail at St. Joe State Park, we will explore the area of the park which has long been known locally as "Number 9 Hills" after the remains of the old lead mine.
Dress for inclement weather. Meet at the Missouri Mines Trailhead at the Missouri Mines State Historic Site prior to 10 a.m. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available at the St. Joe State Park office afterward.
