Honeysuckle Hack for Habitat

11/3/2018 to 11/4/2018 | Katy Trail State Park

Join park staff and volunteers on the Katy Trail in the effort to remove invasive bush honeysuckle. No preregistration required. This volunteer effort is being hosted in coordination with the Fall 2018 Honeysuckle Sweep in partnership with Katy Land Trust, Missouri Botanical Gardens and other partners. Invasive bush honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii) degrades our neighborhoods, backyards, trails, woodlands, fields and stream banks into impenetrable thickets lacking ecological, economic or recreational value. Join us as we work together to eliminate this invasive plant from Katy Trail habitat.

Please bring gloves, water bottles and insect repellent. Comfortable high-topped shoes and durable work clothes are highly recommended. Some tools will be provided.

Meeting location: Marthasville Trailhead
Event time: 9 a.m. - Noon
