Archaeology Day

9/15/2018 | Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park | Miami, MO

Van Meter State Park is hosting its first Archaeology Day. From noon to 2 p.m., various tables and activities will be set up at the large shelter house, such as atlatl throwing, spear making crafts and archaeology in a box. From 2-3 p.m., archaeologist Jack Ray will give a lecture inside Missouri's American Indian Cultural Center about excavations he has recently done in the park. All ages will enjoy this exciting and educational event. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch and your excitement for archaeology out to the park!
