Astronomy Talk: The Moon

8/25/2018 | Wakonda State Park | La Grange, MO

Robert Sadler, Ph.D., professor of physical science at Culver-Stockton College, will give a short talk on the Moon and moon lore. Learn about the Moon's orbit and why we see certain phases at different times of the day and night. Also, learn about the monthly names of the full Moons, and what Super Moons, Blood Moons and Blue Moons are. After the talk (weather permitting), you will be invited to go outside with Dr. Sadler and view the (nearly) full Moon with binoculars and small telescopes. This should be a fun evening for the entire family, kids included.
