Hunt for the Scavenger Hike

7/7/2018 | Graham Cave State Park | Danville, MO

You may have been on a scavenger hunt, but have you ever hunted “the scavenger”? Scavengers and decomposers have very important roles in nature:  Who and what are scavengers and decomposers? What are their day jobs, and nighttime? Where would you find them? Join Naturalist Lorie Volenberg on a .3-mile, somewhat rugged hike of Fern Ridge Trail as she guides you on a hunt for Missouri’s most common scavengers and decomposers.

Meet at the lower picnic shelter parking lot. Hikers are encouraged to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and to bring a bottle of water. Insect repellent is highly recommended. Click here to read the news release.
