The Crayon is Mighty: Cartoon Workshop

Inspired by the museum’s new collaborative exhibit “Sketches of War,” the Missouri State Museum and State Historical Society of Missouri (SHSMO) will present a workshop on drawing cartoons! The museum and SHSMO will be partnering with Missouri River Regional Library in Jefferson City for this event.

This hands-on workshop, appropriate for ages 10 to 18, will teach students about utilizing symbols and images to express ideas. Follow along as State Historical Society staff discusses artist Daniel Fitzpatrick and his techniques for making a powerful image.

Students will be supplied with paper and crayons and will work through the process of developing and refining an editorial cartoon.
