3/17/2018 | Current River State Park | Salem, MO
Have you ever wondered how your great grandparents or even your grandparents made soap or canned food? This summer at Current River State Park, there will be several classes taught that will highlight those “old ways.”
The first class will be learning how to safely can your own food. You will learn how to can vegetables, make salsa and make a sweet spread (jelly). This is a hands-on class and you even get to take the food that you canned home! This class is taught by Cammie Younger from the University of Missouri Extension.
This class is free but space is limited and you will need to register in advance. The deadline to register is March 2. Bring a snack or lunch and drinks. No alcohol please. For more information or to register, call Connie Weber at 573-751-1224.
