First Day Bison Hike

1/1/2018 | Prairie State Park | Mindenmines, MO

Come out and get that “prairie feeling” and some exercise at the same time. Visitors should be prepared for a 2-mile hike over uneven terrain in winter conditions. We won’t know the location of the bison until that morning. Bringing water, snacks and wearing sturdy footwear is recommended. The wind can be rather nasty this time of year, so be sure to dress for it. Dressing in layers is best. Following the hike, refreshments will be provided.

Hike time: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Meeting Location:  Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center

This hike is part of a national First Day Hikes initiative by America's State Parks. For more information and a list of other First Day Hikes in Missouri State Parks, click here.
