PorchFest KC

10/14/2017 | Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site | Kansas City, MO

The Benton Home will be hosting four bands during PorchFest, taking place in the Valentine, Roanoke and Volker neighborhoods in Kansas City. Porchfest will feature free music performed by 160 bands on 48 porches. The historic site will host Karen, Tom & Barry at 1 p.m.; Zanzibar Drums at 2:30 p.m.; Damien Gunn at 4 p.m.; and Hammerhedd at 5:30 p.m.

PorchFestKC returns for a fourth year. Once again, a wide variety of musical genres will be represented, including Americana, reggae, classical, pop, folk, jazz, country and Latin. Music is acoustic or near-acoustic and spans six hours.

Festival attendees are encouraged to bring their camp chair and tip money; this is a free event and bands perform for tips. Please be generous and tip a few dollars to each porch attended!

A dozen food trucks will be available throughout the festival area. Please leave coolers at home.
