Kids on the Frontier

9/16/2017 | Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site | Ash Grove, MO

Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic is kicking off a new season of "Third Saturdays at the Homestead" starting July 15. Explore and interact with Missouri's frontier past through a variety of hands-on activities. Programs will be hosted at a variety of locations throughout the site and are appropriate for all ages. All events are free and open to the public.

Long summer days got you down? Head on out to the homestead and see how kids kept themselves occupied on the Missouri frontier. Try your hand at cane pole fishing, score a run in Town Ball, see how far you can roll a hoop, and much more!

Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear and bring plenty of water to drink. In the event of inclement weather, events may be canceled.

Event times: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
