Hike to Hidden Treasures of Rock Bridge - Cabin and Creek

7/1/2017 | Rock Bridge Memorial State Park | Columbia, MO

Come to all or part of the Cabin and Creek Hike. Tour the reconstructed (2014) Hickam cabin to learn about the cabin itself, what life was like back then and the family who built it. Walk 3/4 mile on Spring Brook Trail to Little Bonne Femme Creek.  Use nets provided to try to catch aquatic animals; learn about the animals caught; wade and skip rocks. Walk off trail to more creek areas and follow a historic road back to the picnic area (3/4 mile). Pick up litter along the way.

This event is free. Reservations are required because space is limited. When you call (573-449-7402), you will be given driving directions. This hike is recommended for ages 8 years and up. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Prefer no dogs.

Help celebrate the park's 50th anniversary by participating on one or all of these hikes held the first Saturday of each month. Visit different parts of the park and learn about the park’s founding, history and nature.  Also, help care for the park through a short service project.
