Whispering Eclipse

Hawn State Park and Friends of Hawn Association will be hosting "Whispering Eclipse."

Saturday, 7 p.m.

  • On Saturday night, the St. Louis-based blues/folk duo Riverside Wanderers will play in the campground amphitheater.  

Sunday, 7 p.m.

  • On Sunday night, there will be a program about the total eclipse in the campground amphitheater. Visitors will learn how this eclipse happens and why it is special.

Monday

  • On Monday, listen to find out if the pines whisper during the total eclipse. A tent will be set up in the field at the park entrance for shade, but bring your own lawn chair for seating. The eclipse begins at 11:50 a.m., with total eclipse starting at 1:17p.m.
  • Sign up for a guided total eclipse hike to the highest point in the park in the Whispering Pine Wild Area. Only 20 spots are available. Participants must preregister for this free event. Call 573-883-3603 to register. The hike begins at 11 a.m.   

Refreshments will be available to purchase from Friends of Hawn Association during this event.
