Imagine getting lost while on a hike. It’s getting dark, the wind is picking up, it’s getting colder and it starts to rain.! Are you scared yet? Learn how to survive these types of challenges
This program will supply you with the minimal skills needed to create your own shelter and be able to survive an unexpected event. Only the hearty need apply. Camping will be provided in the special-use camping area at Mark Twain State Park. Please bring your own camping supplies, water containers and food.
Survival Skills include:
- Fire Building
- Water Collection
- Shelter Building
- Wild edibles
Pre-registering is a must!! There are only 10 family spots available! Call the park to register.
Event time: Set up camp (tent camping only) anytime on Friday, Sept. 9 at the special-use camping area. A night hike will begin at 8:30 p.m. at the amphitheater. Survival skills programs will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
