Camp Sherwood Beautification Day

4/16/2016 | Cuivre River State Park | Troy, MO

Cuivre River State Park will host Camp Sherwood Beautification Day as part of the National Volunteer Week celebration. National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. Camp Sherwood has been a part of the Troy community for more than 70 years and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Generations of children have made memories in camp, and several thousand people still enjoy the camp today.

This event will also kick off the park’s first large volunteer event for the newly formed park volunteer program. During the event, volunteers will assist staff with a variety of camp beautification projects that will spruce up the camp for visitors.

Volunteers can sign up for the morning shift (9 a.m. to noon) or the afternoon shift (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.), or can sign up for both! Lunch will be provided for all volunteers at noon. All volunteers need to call the park office to sign up for the shift of their choice. There are projects for volunteers of all ages!

For more information or to register, call the park office at 636-528-7247 or visit the events listing on the park Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CuivreRiverStatePark.
