On Fourth of July weekend, the park will host a kids boat race. Park staff builds rubber band-powered wooden boats out of recycled wood all winter long to be ready for this exciting event. Kids who participate will be given a boat to paint and decorate on Sunday night. The next morning, on Monday, we will race all the boats at the campground swimming beach. This is a great family activity that gets kids excited about being outside. It also gives them a chance to have fun and build a memory, which they will cherish for the rest of their lives.
