5/7/2016 | Prairie State Park | Mindenmines, MO
Calving should be going on in earnest now! We hope to see some. Come out to the park and take a guided hike to see them. We will meet at the Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center. This should be a great time to get some photos of them and the wildflowers. Don't forget your cameras! Be prepared for a 2-mile hike over uneven terrain. Bringing water, snacks, insect repellent, a hat and sunscreen, and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended. Binoculars will be useful in looking at bison as well as other wildlife that we may see.
