11/14/2015 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO
Did you know that it took more than 30 years of campaigning to have Thanksgiving declared a National holiday? Join staff in the Missouri State Museum classroom as we explore the history of this great holiday. Families can also work together to create a “Thankful Wreath of Leaves” while participants share their own family traditions.
This program is free and open to the public. The program will be similar in format to the Missouri State Museum’s Learning @ 11 and Tuesdays @ 2 summer program series. These interactive programs are focused on families with children ages 4 to 12.
The program will be held in the Missouri State Museum classroom, which is in the History Hall in the east wing of the Missouri state Capitol. During construction on the Capitol, entrance will be through the east or west entry doors. An accessible entry will be available through the Capitol garage, at the lower level of the east side of the building.
