Meet and Greet The Naturalist
Meet the park naturalist! The naturalist staff will answer your questions about the park and nature in this meet-and greet-style program, which will last approximately one hour.
Saturday:
Noon - Petroglyph Site
Petroglyph Glade Tour
This guided interpretive walk highlights two of the park’s unique features. The walk begins with a tour of the ancient Native American rock carvings and will then venture out into the glade, where visitors will learn about life on this rare landscape. This walk will last approximately one hour.
2 p.m. - Campground Amphitheater
Explorer Hour
Become a Missouri State Parks and Historic Sites Explorer! Learn more about this fun program with interpretive study, interpretive programs and identification. Then get a chance to work toward your explorer badge with park staff. This program will last approximately one hour.
4 p.m. - Thunderbird Lodge
River Bottom Walk
A short hike along the 1,000 Steps Trail will give guests the chance to view a wide variety of plant life and learn about the history of Washington State Park and the young men who built it. The walk will then lead guests along the edge of the Big River to learn just how important this body of water is to the area around it. This walk will last approximately one hour.

Who Wants To Be A Missourian?
Join park staff for this family-friendly trivia game. Show off what you know about Missouri and compete with family and friends.
