This free program is part of a series of programs led by Grant Miller and his friendly, knowledgeable amateur astronomers, known as “the Local Group.” The programs are designed to help beginners learn about and appreciate the night sky. Each program begins with a brief introduction, short astronomy/space lesson, and a question and answer session as the sky darkens. Quality amateur telescopes will be set up to guide visitors through the night sky; a naked-eye laser sky tour will also be presented (dim red light flashlights preferred).
Bring something to sit on. Insect repellent is recommended. The events will be canceled if skies are overcast or it's raining. To find out if an event is canceled, please go to the Knob Noster State Park Facebook page.
