Wings Over Weston is a festival that celebrates and raises awareness for birds and monarchs, their migration and habitat. The festival is a family-friendly event for children and adults of every age. Some of the activities include arts and crafts, face painting, games, guided bird hikes and rescued birds from Operation Wildlife. Live music will be provided by the Bluegrass Tornadoes and a food truck will be available.
This year, Wings Over Weston will also be celebrating the 175th Anniversary of Platte County! To help celebrate, a children’s art fair, bald eagle programs by the Dickerson Park Zoo and falconry programs have been added to the event.
Partners, sponsors and volunteers include Missouri State Parks, Burroughs Audubon, Audubon Missouri, Missouri Department of Conservation, Aveda, City of Weston, Platte County Parks and Recreation, Missouri Master Naturalists, the Wildlife Society, Missouri River Bird Observatory, Operation Wildlife, Dickerson Park Zoo and more!
