In honor of National Arbor Day 2013, the historic site is hosting this event dedicated to Missouri's native trees and the benefits of these amazing plants. A short presentation will begin at 7 p.m., after which a limited supply of tree seedlings will be distributed to attendees. Park visitors are invited to stay for a showing of the 2012 feature film "The Lorax," a Dr. Seuss story that features the Lorax and his mission to save the trees of his world. Bring your own snacks and seating and be sure to to dress appropriately for the weather. This event is free and open to the public. Click here to read the news release.
