4/4/2012 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO
In April, the Missouri State Museum will continue to have “Museum after Hours” on the first Wednesday of each month and stay open until 8 p.m. At 7 p.m., a program called “Jesse James in the Civil War” will be presented. In 1864 young Jesse James joined the Confederate army, where he was involved in many conflicts from military actions to committing personal atrocities. Did this background help form the outlaw Jesse James is remembered as today? This program will take place in the museum classroom, which is located in the History Hall (east wing).
If you have ever wondered what it would be like to visit the museum at night, or your schedule doesn’t allow daytime outings, come join us for special programs and to view the exhibits. You will find both old favorites and new including “Civil War Missouri: A House Dividing,” an exhibit that commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Evening entry to the museum will be through the carriage entrance on the south side of the building underneath the grand staircase.
