Join us at the park on Saturday, April 19, for an Earth Day celebration! This free event will feature a series of environmental activities ranging from volunteer work to an educational presentation and a fun craft. All activities are open to the public, and there is no need to register. Everyone is welcome to come and go as they please.
Event schedule:
- 10 a.m. – Meet in the Big River Day-Use Area for a tree planting and trash cleanup volunteer opportunity.
- Noon – Disperse for lunch in the Big River Day-Use Area. Guests should bring their own lunch.
- 1 p.m. – Meet at the amphitheater for a presentation by special guest Todd Heilman about critters that get a bad rap but play important roles.
- 3 p.m. – Meet at the amphitheater to make a stained glass suncatcher out of recycled materials.
