Stream Monitoring Blitz

10/12/2024 | Rock Bridge Memorial State Park | Columbia, MO

Catch aquatic animals, conduct chemical tests to evaluate water quality, and check on the health of park streams as part of an ongoing citizen science project for the Bonne Femme watershed. No prior training is necessary – participants will be placed with experienced Stream Team volunteers. Five teams will disperse to monitor five locations on several streams within Rock Bridge Memorial State Park.

Participants should wear boots or shoes that can get wet and meet at the Devil's Icebox parking lot. Free sack lunches will be provided after the event.

Registration is required and can be completed online or by calling 573-886-4330.

The Stream Monitoring Blitz is held every spring and fall and is co-sponsored by Boone County Stormwater Management and Missouri Stream Team.
