Women's History Hike

Celebrate Women's History Month at Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site with a hike through the homestead. The event will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, with participants hearing stories of women whose lives were touched by the homestead.

The 1.5-mile hike will take visitors through the 1837 Boone home and into areas of the park off the main trails. Participants should meet at the covered picnic shelter near the office and are encouraged to wear sturdy hiking shoes, dress for the weather, bring water, and use insect repellent.

This event is free and open to the public, and there is no need to register. In the event of inclement weather, the hike may be canceled. Contact the site office at 417-751-3266 for the most up-to-date information.

Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site is located at 7850 N. state Highway V, in Ash Grove, northwest of Springfield.

Hike time: 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
