Let's have some fun on the water kayaking the lower lake at Current River State Park.
From 9-10 a.m., the park will host a kids kayaking clinic. This will be followed by a three-hour "play day" portion, in which kids can leisurely paddle on the lake. Parents and guardians must remain with their children during both portions of the event.
Reregistration is required for the kayaking clinic but not the play day portion. Both portions are limited to children and parents and guardians of participating children. Adults will not be allowed to paddle on the lake if they are not accompanying children.
Participants need to be wearing closed-toe shoes and clothing they can get wet in. Participants should bring their own Type 3 lifejackets. They should also bring water, a snack and sunscreen. Kayaks will be provided.
