Cuivre River State Park Closed for Managed Deer Hunt Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2026
Cuivre River State Park will be closed from Oct. 31, 2026, through Nov. 2, 2026, due to a managed deer hunt at the park. Only registered hunters and people working the event will be allowed in the park. Camping will be unavailable from Oct. 30, 2026, through Nov. 2, 2026. This includes backcountry camping and special-use camping.

Organized Group Camps - Cuivre River
Group Camp Information and Maps
Scout troops, school and church groups, families, weddings, and other organized groups can use any of the three group camps. The camps were constructed during the Civilian Conservation Corps era and include cabins, recreation areas and a dining lodge.

Group Camp Reservations
Arrangements can be made up to 11 months in advance and require a $50 deposit fee. Applications can be obtained online or by calling 636-528-7247.

Camp Cuivre Dining Hall Rental
The dining hall in Camp Cuivre can now be rented for special events from May 1 through Oct. 31. Click here for more information.
Watercraft Rentals
Kayak and canoe rentals are available only for those staying in the park’s organized group camps.
Rental times and dates:
8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend
Standard rental package ($100 total):
Three canoes
Two one-person kayaks
Additional rental items (not included in the standard $100 package):
One tandem kayak for $25
Up to three additional canoes for $25 each (if not being used by another group)
Up to two additional one-person kayaks for $25 each (if not being used by another group)
