7/23/2016 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO
Jefferson Landing will celebrate its 40th year with a backyard concert series. Enjoy monthly performances by local artists who put a new twist on Missouri music traditions. These are "BYOC" (bring your own chair) events. Grab your family, some lawn chairs and a picnic supper, and join us on the lawn of the Lohman Building, located at 100 Jefferson St.
The lineup for 2016 includes:
July 23: The Kay Brothers
The Kay Brothers play what they call "Bonafide Hillbillyin' n' Hootin' n' Hollerin' Missouri Stompgrass and What Not." Come find out what they mean.
Aug. 20: River Ridge String Band
Join us for an evening of traditional, old-time, Celtic, folk and bluegrass music. Enjoy the sounds of hammered dulcimer, guitar, banjo, mandolin and percussion.
Sept. 17: Howard Marshall and Ensemble/Fiddle Jam
Howard Marshall, Ph.D., and his ensemble will play traditional fiddle and dance tunes. Enjoy rousing melodies while learning about the music and people behind the state’s fiddling traditions. We’ll cap off the evening with an informal fiddle jam. Bring your fiddles and play with award-winning fiddlers and other musicians.
