Civil War Living History Encampment

7/11/2015 to 7/12/2015 | Battle of Carthage State Historic Site | Carthage, MO

Reenactors will discuss how Missouri’s soldiers prepared for their first battlefield experience at the Battle of Carthage, one of the earliest battles of the Civil War. They will demonstrate Civil War military drilling, weapons firing and camp life throughout the day. Interpreters from Missouri State Parks will be on hand to answer questions on the Civil War in southwest Missouri and to give talks on the significance of the Battle of Carthage to the ultimate outcome of the Civil War in the west.
