8/3/2013 | Onondaga Cave State Park | Leasburg, MO
The Onondaga Friends Association is hosting a small music event in the big room of the cave. Hot August Night~Cool Music in the Cave is reminiscent of the old days when Saturday night events were held in the cave to escape the heat of the summer.
Flea Bitten Dawgs is a nature loving ukulele group whose sound comes from a cross of the Garcia/Grishman acoustic collaboration and what Willie Nelson would sound like being backed by Django. Their favorite songs tend to be ballads that have a rich melody to improvise from. While not a jam band, they take a song into many turns and still find the melody all within one chorus. Visit the Onondaga Friends Association website (below) for more information about this very interesting group of guys who love their ukuleles!
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased in advance with credit/debit cards on the Onondaga Friends Association website. You may also call the park to make a reservation and mail a check, but it must be received seven days in advance of the concert to hold your reservation.
This event is by advance reservation and seating is limited to the first 75 reservations. Refreshments will be served from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at intermission in the lobby. No food or drink will be allowed in the cave during the event. More information about this event can be found at www.onondagafriends.org.
