Museum After Hours: Meet Me at the Fair

6/6/2012 to 6/7/2012 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO

In June, the Missouri State Museum will continue to have "Museum after Hours" on the first Wednesday of each month, when museum galleries will stay open until 9 p.m. This month, guest speaker Robert Herman will present “Meet Me at the Fair,” a program about the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. Intended to be the biggest and best World’s Fair ever, this event gave fairgoers the opportunity to enjoy everything from art and music to entertainment and culture from around the world. Herman is a charter member of the St. Louis World’s Fair Society, and an avid collector of St. Louis World's Fair memorabilia. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of this exciting time. Visitors will also have an opportunity to be among the first to view some of the collection of World's Fair artifacts donated to the museum last year. This program will take place in the museum classroom, which is located in the History Hall (east wing). Evening entry to the museum will be through the carriage entrance on the south side of the building underneath the grand staircase.

Event times: 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Program: 7 p.m.
