Hide Tanning

During this program, you will learn about the traditional hide tanning process used by the American Indians, brain tanning. The brain was used to prepare an animal’s hide so it could be used for clothing and moccasins.

This program can be used to satisfy the requirements to become a Missouri State Parks and Historic Sites Explorer.
