Jack-o’-Lantern Jubilee

Registered campers are invited to join in the Halloween fun at St. Joe State Park's Jack-o'-Lantern Jubilee! Activities will take place in the park campgrounds and at nearby Missouri Mines State Historic Site.

Regular camping fees apply, but the event itself is free. For more information, see the event schedule or call the park office at 573-431-1069.

Event Schedule:

2-4:30 p.m. – Off-Road Saunter to Missouri Mines

At 2 p.m., park staff will lead an off-road vehicle ride from the Campground 1 showerhouse to Missouri Mines State Historic Site. Activities at Missouri Mines will begin at 2:30 p.m. with an extended trick-or-treat tour, during which site staff will hand out candy at various stops. Guests should bring a bucket or bag to collect candy. After the tour, pumpkin painting and a mine cart photo booth will be available at the site from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Drivers of licensed vehicles are welcome to travel the roads between St. Joe and Missouri Mines anytime between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Upon arriving at Missouri Mines, licensed vehicles should be parked at the historic site's gravel parking lot.

6 p.m. – Campground Trick-or-Treating

Trick-or-treating at St. Joe will take place in the campgrounds from 6-7 p.m. Campers are responsible for providing the candy, but participation is voluntary. Participating campsites will be given a Halloween placard to post at the time of registration. Trick-or-treaters should wear a costume and bring a bucket or bag to collect candy. Trick-or-treating is only open to registered campers and their guests.

7:30 p.m. – Best-Decorated Campsite Awards Presented

Registered campers may participate in a Halloween-themed campsite decorating contest. Campsites will be judged by park staff during the trick-or-treating. Awards for the top three sites will be given at 7:30 p.m.
