Special-Use Area

at Sam A. Baker State Park

The special-use camping area is for use by nonprofit organizations. It is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and may be reserved by calling the park. Organized youth groups (Scouts, 4-H, church, etc.) have priority. The area has picnic tables, fire rings and a vault toilet. As of Saturday, April 3, the visitor center will reopen at Sam A. Baker State Park and will be open on weekends. The visitor center will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed from noon to 1 p.m. for cleaning).
