Landing After Hours: Murder and Mayhem in Jefferson City

5/3/2023 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO

The first century of the wilderness-born Missouri capital was grieved by prison escapes, theft, murder, Volstead Act violations, and a "law-and-order" sheriff whose deputies broke the law in the name of maintaining it. Please join author Michelle Brooks as she shares her collected samples of some of the shocking events of Jefferson City's early history.

The Missouri State Museum's "Landing After Hours" program is held the first Wednesday of each month at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, located at 100 Jefferson St. Doors to the building will open at 6:30, and the program will begin at 7 p.m. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building.

In addition to being held in person, this program will also be livestreamed on the Missouri State Museum’s Facebook page.
