10/13/2022 to 10/30/2022 | Bennett Spring State Park | Lebanon, MO
The Lebanon Sunbonnet Federated Garden Club invites children in grades one through five to join them for the annual Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl Poster Contest. Wednesdays through Sundays from Oct. 13-30, the Bennett Spring nature center will have an area available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for participants to utilize supplies and turn in a poster. Each entry should be 11 by 17 inches; complete rules and submission requirements will be posted at the nature center and are also available at the links below. Certificates will be awarded to each poster dropped off for contest entry.
On Oct. 15, Missouri black bear items and information will be on display at the nature center from 10 a.m. to noon. Woodsy Owl will make an appearance at noon followed by a live owl program presented by the Dickerson Park Zoo at 1 p.m.
Woodsy Owl is a conservation icon whose message is to “Lend a Hand, Care for the Land!” The park would like to support the community’s efforts in recycling, reusing, and reducing waste. Using resources wisely and not littering is appreciated at Bennett Spring State Park.
