10/1/2022 to 10/2/2022 | Mark Twain State Park | Florida, MO
Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site and the Monroe County Historical Society will be hosting the 2022 Salt River Quilt Show on the weekend of Oct. 1-2, 2022. The quilt show will be held inside the Mark Twain Memorial Shrine at the historic site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2. Approximately 100 quilts will be hung in the museum's two galleries.
This year's quilt show theme is "Quilt Song" and will feature quilts associated with favorite or iconic songs. There will be an associated contest in which visitors can try to match songs to quilts in the show. Other quilt categories this year will include memory quilts (quilts associated with a person or event), quilts honoring veterans, baby quilts, quilts made by quilters age 16 and under, and miscellaneous quilts (including antique). Quilt sizes can range from wall-hanging to bed-quilt size in all categories. The quilts will be judged in each category, and ribbons and prizes will be awarded.
Live presentations will be offered at the quilt show on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. and noon. Admission to see the quilt show and the presentations is free. For more information, call Marianne Bodine at 573-248-9983.
