Veterans Free Fishing Day

4/23/2022 | Bennett Spring State Park | Lebanon, MO

Veterans can fish for free at Bennett Spring State Park on April 23, 2022. Tags can be obtained in the park store, and fishing will begin and end with sirens at the park.

Daily limit is four trout. To keep brown trout, the fish must be 15 inches or larger. There is no minimum length limit for rainbow trout. Only a single pole or rod may be used. Anglers who keep their trout must be identified with their name and address.

Wading is permitted by anglers only. Bennett Spring has three fishing zones, which are based on the type of bait used while fishing. A map and more information regarding fishing rules and regulations can be obtained at the park store.

Veterans Free Fishing Day is normally the third Saturday in April, but the Department of Conservation hatchery staff moved the event this year due to the Easter holiday. For more information about this event, call the hatchery at 417-532-4418.
