Every Saturday morning during the months of July and August, site interpreters will be on hand to present the history of the old Federal lead mill at Missouri Mines State Historic Site.
This complex of buildings was the working hub of the vast lead mine system that laid underneath and supported several towns, known together as the "Old Missouri Lead Belt," through much of the 20th century.
This is an outside program that does not require a paid museum admission. Due to safety and liability issues, the buildings will not be entered. Also, in view of the continuing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, visitors are asked to practice social distancing.
