Discover the world of birds by learning all about our feathered friends who call your backyard home. This festival will feature live bird presentations, a guided bird walk, activities and crafts for the whole family. The event will be held at the park’s day-use area.

Start the day off at 9 a.m. with a beautiful morning stroll, observing and learning about the birds that are attracted to Sam A. Baker State Park. Throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be activities and crafts that will cover such topics as migration, hunting game birds and bird behavior. 

Then experience the awe and wonder of America's amazing birds of prey. The Raptor Awareness Program with World Bird Sanctuary from St. Louis will present this interactive program featuring the spectacular raptors of Missouri, such as hawks, owls and falcons at 11 a.m. in the park's amphitheater. Get a close-up, personal look at these birds as they soar right over your head during this exciting and interactive show. 

Learn all about this hobby and more during this fun-filled festival. Bird merchandise will also be available for purchase throughout the day by the park concessionaire. Don’t miss this event of flyers, feathers and fun!
