Kids fish for free at Montauk State Park each year on the Saturday before Mother's Day weekend. Kids 15 and younger can pick up their required "free fishing tags" at the registration booth near the fish cleaning station the night before the event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. or all day Saturday during the event. All children must pick up their tag before fishing.
A special designated fishing area will be provided for children only. However, children can fish anywhere in the park.
