Canceled: Intruder Alert!

5/9/2020 | Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park | Miami, MO

This event has been canceled.

Protecting Missouri's native plants and landscapes is one of the most important missions of Missouri State Parks. Please join us at Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park for an educational program about invasive species that are sneaking their way into Missouri habitats. Attendees will learn how to identify and remove invasive species in order to preserve Missouri's natural resources.

Participants will meet at the Lake Wooldridge parking lot (at the end of Pinnacle Drive) and should be prepared to hike a portion of Loess Hills Trail and possibly aid in the removal of some invasive species. Dress in appropriate active clothing, wear closed-toe shoes, and wear plenty of bug spray and sunscreen.

This event is free and open to the public. Trail terrain will be rough at times.
