Canceled: Camp Sherwood Beautification Day

4/25/2020 | Cuivre River State Park | Troy, MO

This event has been canceled.

Cuivre River State Park will host Camp Sherwood Beautification Day on Saturday, April 25 to celebrate National Volunteer Week. National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. Camp Sherwood has been a part of the Troy community for 80 years and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Generations of children have made memories in camp, and several thousand people still enjoy the camp today. This event will help park staff get the camp ready for incoming summer camps.

During the event, volunteers will assist staff with a variety of camp beautification projects that will spruce up the camp for our visitors. Projects will include cleaning camp dishes, sweeping out buildings, blowing leaves, and more! The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon, and volunteers may stay for as little or as long as they would like. We ask that volunteers arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. to register and sign volunteer paperwork. A hamburger and hot dog lunch will be provided. Scout and civic groups are encouraged to join us – we just ask that children have plenty of adult helpers.

Volunteers should call the park office to sign up to ensure there is enough supplies and food for everyone. There are projects for volunteers of all ages!

For more information or to register, call the park office at 636-528-7247.
