4/18/2020 | Watkins Woolen Mill State Historic Site | Lawson, MO
Out of caution, park and site events and programs are suspended until further notice. Missouri State Parks is closely monitoring the progression of COVID-19 and its effect in Missouri. We’re sorry for any inconvenience; however, your safety is our top priority.
Come celebrate the arrival of spring at the Watkins farm and join us for a day filled with fun and learning! Witness 1870s style sheep shearing, stroll through our heirloom garden as it’s prepared for spring planning, and participate in activities and chores that were commonplace in the 1870s. Activities will include woodstove cooking, cross-cut sawing, rag doll making, toy making, rope making, laundry, blacksmithing, weaving and more!
Admission for the event is free. There will be an open house at the Watkins Family Home, and a limited number of mill tours will be offered at a reduced rate. For more information, contact the park at 816-580-3387.
