Canceled: Thursday Night Hikes

Join us at Lake of the Ozarks State Park this spring for a series of Thursday evening hikes led by park staff. Begin to familiarize yourself with the 17,666-acre park as we explore different areas each week. All hikes will begin promptly at 6 p.m. and are planned to conclude before sunset. Hikers should expect to encounter varying terrain and trail conditions. Please wear appropriate footwear and attire, and bring plenty of water. Insect repellent is recommended.

March 12 - Lake Trail (1.5 miles)

Lake Trail shows a variety of Ozark terrain, with part of the trail densely shaded and covered in ferns and the rest of it open and rocky with areas of exposed chert and few trees and plants. The trail follows the shoreline of Lake of the Ozarks and provides views of the lake. Meet at the Outpost parking lot. Directions: Take Highway 54 East to Highway 42 East, then take Highway 134 and turn on Whispering Oaks. Then follow the signs to the Outpost Cabins at the end of Outpost Road. (38.1301 -92.6211)

March 19 - Lakeview Bend (1.5 miles)

Lakeview Bend Trail follows towering bluffs and gentle slopes through Ozark woodlands to panoramic views of the lake. Meet at the entrance of the main campground. Meet at the campground store parking lot. Directions: Take Highway 54 east to Highway 42 East. Then take Highway 134 approximately 4 miles to the campground store. (38.0763 -92.5708)

March 26 - Shady Ridge (2 miles)

Shady Ridge Trail meanders along the lake shore and is known for its great lake views. Meet at the Grand Glaize Beach Marina parking lot. Directions: From Osage Beach Parkway between Case Road and Nichols Road, take Public Beach Road and turn toward the marina. (38.1161 -92.6684)
